no other than chilean sunnyboy and groove scientist luciano is taking us on the a-side on a long ride of lush but infectious minimalism. eleven minutes strong, luciano does what he does best and unfolds a continuous flow of subtle rhythmic changes, melodies and field recordings to create an overall hypnotic feel that sucks you in right from the start. think his last ep on cadenza with thomas melchior and add an eerie feel to it. on the flip side the enigmatic duo eat (both integrat parts of the diamonds and pearls family) steps up for some serious dancefloor destruction. what starts off as a pulsating acidic techno-monster that creeps up from the depths of a pile of analog synthesizers, turns into a breakbeat chopping electro-jam that will leave you behind with bleeding ears and thumping hearts, before the track jumps right back to techno peaktime.

eveybody s gay... suggests however a musical idea that could not be simpler, a kind of atonal electronic blues with a recurring motif. yet, everything hinges on keyboards riffs and song rendering which allow d.i.p to bowl us over exultantly. if everybody s gay... is playing on self-restraint, on the b-side perfect day launches a head-on attack on the dancefloor with overworked disco-techno-rock intentions…and, present as always, those acid-electro-gut-wrenching tones. we can also notice that florian s personality shines out in broad daylight, as if it was possible, amazingly playing on voices. seducing and convincing. everybody is definitely ok: if a second ep is always a decisive test for a producer, d.i.p. compels recognition on the popular credibility form. moreover those little brats take advantage of the opportunity to sign right through the sheet

applegarden is a strange duo from rotterdam making a weird kind of electronic funk. we had these tracks lying around in the office for at least 2 years...and we couldn t get them out of our system.. so something must be right!. twentyfive 6 four and armaggedon are the two original cuts on this release...and they are just a lot of fun. the finnish wonderboys of putsch 79 made the official club version of >twentyfive 6 four<. they turned the loose original version in a thight and sharp club monster that works on everydance floor. probably their most uptempo dancefloor orientated remix they ever did. allready got played by several influential dj s

sleepy hollow was obviously inspired by the movie of the same name. it is one of my favourite pictures by tim burton and i really like the dark, creepy atmosphere of it. the bass-line recreates this mood to an extent that it scares me, makes me shiver. i mean, really! regenerate has such a strong techhouse vibe to it, again reminiscent of the early 90s and a very strong groove. excellent percussion programming and modulation by stephan. this one builds and builds until it completely gets you. personally i think all due respect is the most laidback, reduced track on the album. we came up with this distinctive, monotone melody/bass and i loved the feeling right away. definetely the kind of music that i like to play on a sunday after hour session

the bpm has slowed right down offering us two tracks with a subversive and insidious groove...though solidly based within current electronic thinking and styles, this ep stays well clear of any clichés....to quote laurent garnier on hearing these tracks >no other record in my box resembles this in any way<...you need to hear it
